Understanding the key dates in this upgrade will help you plan ahead and ensure your business continues to operate without interruption.

What's happening

Before 30 June

Upgrade window - book and complete installation

From 1 July

FAREWAYplus decommissioned due to non-compliance. Legacy equipment will no longer work.

Now until 30 June 2026 - Your Upgrade Window

This is the period you must complete your installation. Booking early gives you the best chance of securing your preferred installation time and ensures your business experiences no disruption.

During this period:

  • Installation support is available and appointment times are flexible.

  • Priority scheduling is available for merchants who book early

  • Our team is on hand to help you prepare

  • FAREWAYplus remains operational and compliant

From 1 July 2026 - FAREWAYplus Decommissioned

To protect merchants from operating non-compliant equipment, FAREWAYplus will be decommissioned from 1 July 2026. From this date, legacy terminals will no longer be able to process payments or calculate fares.

If you have not completed your upgrade by 1 July:

  • Your FAREWAYplus terminal and meter will cease to function

  • Installation appointment availability will be significantly reduced

We strongly encourage all merchants to complete installation before 30 June to avoid any impact to their business.
